Everyone deserves opportunities to have a good life: the basic necessities that keep them out of crisis and set a foundation for independence, a quality education that leads to a stable job and enough income to support a family through retirement. 

That’s why United Way for Southeastern Michigan’s work is focused on the building blocks for a good life:  

• Education– Helping children and youth achieve their potential

• Income – Promoting financial stability and independence

• Basic Needs – Helping individuals and families to get out of crisis and become independent

United Way’s goal is to create long-lasting changes by addressing the underlying causes of these problems. Living united means being a part of the change. If we each lend a hand, we can raise the condition of all.
