Give an hour. Give a Saturday. Give your best.
Out with the old and in with the new – including a new resolve to Live United in 2010! There is no shortage of opportunities in January to jumpstart your pledge to make a difference in Education, Income or Basic Needs.
Volunteer Tax Preparers Needed
And, as you gather your 2009 tax documents, consider helping others prepare their taxes and perhaps qualify for tax credits this year. Volunteers are the backbone of a national movement to provide free tax filing and accesses to Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) to low-income working Americans. Free training is provided and, even if you aren’t good with numbers, volunteers can help with outreach, intake and screening and other activities. Click here to learn more.
Show off your LIVE UNITED spirit at the 2010 Detroit Free Press/Flagstar Marathon
It doesn't get much easier, or more fun than this! In fact, the only requirement for this volunteer event is a fun-loving attitude!
Several individuals and teams will be running in the 2010 Detroit Free Press/Flagstar Marathon on behalf of United Way for Southeastern Michigan and we want to support their efforts by cheering them on at spirit stations along the course. Individual and group volunteers are welcome. Click here to sign up.
