On Wednesday, February 11, 2009, United States Representative John Dingell will serve his 19,420th day in the U.S. House of Representatives.

John Dingell trivia:

  • John Dingell started his work for the House of Representatives at the age of 12 as a Congressional page.
  • John Dingell served as a research assistant for U.S. Circuit Court Judge Theodore Levin, uncle to Congressman Sander Levin & Senator Carl Levin
  • John Dingell's father held Michigan's 15th District seat from 1932 until 1955.  After his death, John Dingell won the seat in a special election, at the age of 29.
  • John Dingell has won 26 elections.
  • John Dingell's nickname on Capitol Hill is "Big John".
