Pledge now to end childhood hunger.
Though childhood summers should be a time of food, friends and fun, far too many kids in our community find themselves worrying about how they'll eat without the safety net of school breakfast and lunch. Free summer meals are available to kids and teens age 18 and under at hundreds of summer meal sites across our community. These sites - funded by the US Department of Agriculture - helping struggling families feed their kids. Unfortunately, too many kids aren't accessing these sites.
I pledge today to join the Chrysler Group, United Way for Southeastern Michigan and Share Our Strength in increasing participation in the summer meals program so that kids don't go hungry when school is out.
No kid should go hungry!
